Feedback and Photos of the 16 June MAP Toolkit Seminar in South Negros, Philippines

Forty-four pastors attended the Ministry Appreciation and Participation Toolkit (MAP Toolkit) seminar on 16 June at the Boting’s Restaurant, Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental, Philippines.

I delivered the seminar online using the internet facilities at my workplace and, later, at home.

It lasted for seven hours, including a 45-minute lunch break.

NZ time is four hours ahead of the Philippine time. Therefore, it’s already 4:30 PM here in New Zealand when the participants had lunch at 12:30 PM.

The seminar ended at 3:00 PM in the Philippines and 7:00 PM here in New Zealand.

Please read what the participants said about the MAP Toolkit Seminar.

  • The lecturer was down to earth in his approach to the topic.
  • The issues are experiential.
  • The lessons are doable.
  • I sense that Pastor Jonan loves the pastors.
  • The testimony writing and sharing reminds and refreshes me of my calling to the ministry.
  • The whole day’s activity was enough to challenge me to do what was suggested in the lecture.
  • The manual was very helpful.
  • We want to have a copy of the PPT.
  • We hope that other pastors will attend the seminar on MAP Toolkit.
  • The food, venue, snacks, and internet connection were all good.
  • Pastor Jonan was interactive in his dealing with his audience.
  • The lecturer emphasizes with us, Pastors.
  • When Pastor Jonan requested us to share our work with other pastors, it was like a classroom discussion.
  • What I can say is thank you sponsors from NZ.
  • We started and ended the program on time.
  • Katahum sang aton seminar. (Our seminar was beautiful).
  • Full of encouragement. Kag damu gid na learn about sa seminar (I learned a lot from the seminar). Kudos.
  • Very appreciated kag kanami gid sang mga words of encouragement, damu gid kami na-learn. (Very appreciated, beautiful words of encouragement, we learned a lot.)
A participant raised some questions.
Some participants showed their certificates and posed with our organisers – Dr. Melvin Mangana (3rd from left) and Prof. Tanz Marques (centre).

I thank the Lord for the strength, wisdom, and inspiration for me and the participants. I haven’t conducted a day-long seminar for such a long time. I’m glad we made it!

Thank you, Dr. Melvin Mangana, General Secretary of the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches, for leading the seminar’s organisation.

Thank you, Prof. Tanz Marques, President, South Negros Baptist Bible College, and Rev. Rene Quilla, for your valuable help organising the event.

My gratitude and appreciation for the support that Gleniti Baptist Church and Hopevale Trust gave. Thank you, Oamaru Baptist Church. Doing missions overseas online is possible.

I hope and pray that the pastor participants will apply what they have learned at their respective churches.

To God be the glory!
