Through a kind-hearted Kiwi in Timaru, a feeding ministry started through Food Haven.
He and his family had meals every now and then at the café.
One day, while having lunch he asked how he can share the meals to those who can’t afford. Thus, we talked about starting a feeding ministry.
To allow us to find people in need, I got in touch and met Jacob Howan, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army as I’m aware that they have an ongoing welfare program.
He agreed to collaborate in administering the feeding program by issuing the meal vouchers that the recipients will then redeem at Food Haven.
The program started officially on 19th March 2018.
The Kind Kiwi hopes that the initiative will inspire others to donate and support the feeding ministry.
The Feeding Program is a prelude to a bigger vision. The donor plans to establish a social centre in Marchwiel that would offer free clinic, counselling, and other ministries.
For those who don’t know, Food Haven is the cafe that my wife and I operate to support the ministry that we are doing here in New Zealand.
To God be the glory!
