I am happy to be recognised as a fully registered Baptist Union of New Zealand pastor for 2024.
The path and process towards completing full registration took two years in provisional status and entails fulfilling my commitment outlined in my Registration Development Agreement each year.
I value the Baptist Union’s registration process because it ensures pastors and leaders are committed to growth and quality service.
The Baptist Registration Certificate above represents several tasks I must do for a year. It is more than just a piece of paper.
My Registration Development Agreement (RDA) is the critical element of my registration and contains my commitments to :
- Personal growth and learning
- Baptist Whānau (Family) Engagement
- External Supervision Support
- The Annual Review of your RDA
I must fulfil my commitment to this agreement to maintain my registration status.
I will need to confirm during my re-application in November 2024 that this was reviewed with my nominated reviewer in October 2024 during the Annual Review of my RDA.
The Baptist Registration is administered by the Carey Centre for Lifelong Learning, with Sarah Axford and Glenn Melville serving as Administrator and Director, respectively.
On Wednesday, 5 December, I received a copy of my certificate and some souvenirs from the Baptist Union.
I was surprised to receive this Matau (Fish Hook), a symbol of determination, strength, peace, prosperity and a safe journey over water, the values I need in my ministry journey.
Thank you very much, NZ Baptist Union.
