Each year, a group of Ni-Vanuatu comes to Timaru to work at the onion factory in Washdyke.
The people of the Republic of Vanuatu, an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean are called Ni-Vanuatu. We call them “Vanuato” for brevity and to distinguish from their country’s name, “Vanuatu”.
They usually arrive here in February and work until towards the end of May.
Some of them attend the Believers Fellowship every Saturday. They also participate in the multicultural event at Wilson Street Baptist Church.
Yesterday, 24 May 2014, was their last attendance for they went home today, Sunday. They left Timaru at 2:00 AM.
After messages of thanks and farewell, they sang two items.
Please watch the video of the items they shared last night.
We always look forward to their joining us each year. For all of them, we give the Mizpah blessing: “May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other.”
Yes, God be with you until we meet again.
